Why do you microneedle with the prp?
When PRP is used with microneedling, it penetrates more evenly and deeply into your skin through the tiny channels created by the treatment.
Will there be down time?
Patients may except minor swelling, bruising and redness for 3-4 days after their treatment. Patients may also experience some dryness and flaking of the skin as they are healing. Often side-effects are mild and resolve quickly, however it is always best to plan your treatments around vacations and special events by at least 2 weeks.
For a maximal harvest of good quality growth serum, patients typically undergo a few weeks of ‘prep’ prior to their treatment to ensure the serum extracted for injection is of excellent quality. PRP prep may include increasing water intake, increasing nutrient status with dietary modification, nutrient supplementation orIV Nutrient Therapy alongside supporting sleep, energy and stress levels. Although not everyone is a suitable candidate for PRP therapy, many patients are able to experience the results of treatment once they’ve addressed and improved upon their health. A consultation with Dr. Overton, ND is encouraged prior to undergoing PRP therapy; this will help determine your eligibility for this treatment and allow her your plan your path to healthier skin.

Prior to your treatment:
We recommend scheduling your appointment at least 2-weeks prior to important events such as a wedding or vacation, and at least 2-weeks prior to or post dental work, including standard teeth cleaning.
If you have a history of cold sores, please advise the doctor so they may put you on anti-viral medication prior to treatment. Please reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or infection on the area to be treated.
Be sure to have something to eat and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of light-headedness during your treatment.

Day of your Treatment:
Please hydrate, and have something to eat before your procedure.
For facial treatments, try to arrive with a ‘clean face’ free of makeup and/or clean-shaven. We encourage you to remain make-up free for a minimum of 24 hours after your treatment to reduce the risk of infection.

Numbing cream may be used for your treatment. If you are having a PRP treatment, the doctor will perform a venipuncture prior to your procedure.
